The new initiative of Krzysztof Pastor, director of the Polish National Ballet, is an attempt to bridge the gap between the fruits of the work of ballet schools and the quantitative and qualitative expectations of our theatre scenes. That is why we have created a ten-member junior group at the Ballet Ensemble of the Teatr Wielki - National Opera, whose members will work on separate terms for a year or two, honing their technical and artistic skills in order to achieve the qualifications necessary for possible regular work in PBN or another Polish ballet company. The already selected juniors, mainly pupils of Polish ballet schools, will receive special pedagogical care from experienced PBN artists during this period. We will also provide them with master workshops conducted by invited foreign ballet masters. They will participate in artistic programs dedicated to them on our chamber stage, presented later also in other theaters of the country, but also in the daily activities of the entire PBN and in ballet performances of our theater. As time goes on, they will have the chance to join the PBN team or seek engagement in other theatres.
