“Kachu Total. The Art of Kazimierz Ostrowski” — the premiere of the catalogue for the exhibition and the concert of the trio Sheldon Kafka & The Almosts

On Friday 23 October at 18.00 we invite you to the premiere of the catalogue accompanying the exhibition Kachu Totalny. Art by Kazimierz Ostrowski. and for the concert of the trio Sheldon Kafka & The Almosts.

This is the first such complete elaboration of the work of the Gdynia painter, containing a complete compendium of his works, essays devoted to various fields of Kach's activity, as well as the broadest overview of works to date.

During the premiere there will be a short meeting with Agnieszka Drączkowska-Gradzic — curator of the exhibition and Patryk Hardzie — author of the visual identification for the exhibition and designer of the catalogue. Guests will talk about the creative process around the exhibition, as well as about the work on the publication itself.

The lecture will be followed by a concert by Sheldon Kafka & The Almosts. A trio made up of musicians from Tricity, led by the author of the project Szymon Burnos (vocals, guitar, keyboards), who, accompanied by a rhythm section (bass, drums), performs live music that escapes simple classifications.

Sheldon Kafka & The Almosts — concert

Sheldon Kafka & The Almosts is a trio led by the author of the project Szymon Burnos (vocals, guitar, keyboards), who, accompanied by a rhythm section (bass, drums), performs live music that escapes simple classifications.

Indie rock meets jazz, funk and even Brazilian rhythms, and the whole is immersed in a slightly psychedelic atmosphere.

It's organic, warm and rhythmic music — just as good for listening as it is for unhurried rocking. However, the trio can surprise, sometimes exploring areas of slightly heavier music or experimenting with the form of songs.

Sheldon Kafka is the songwriting alter ego of Szymon Burnos — pianist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Gdańsk, who in his home studio creates music balancing between indie, soft rock, bedroom pop, lo-fi and jazz. He simply calls it: “slow food music” (music as the opposite of “fast food” culture and life in a hurry/“ nutritious”, organic, thought-provoking music).
