The clarinet - an instrument younger than many of its colleagues in the orchestra, because it was created only in the 18th century - won the hearts of listeners with its characteristic dull color. She can seduce so effectively that she competes with the violin, for which Clara Schumann originally wrote her Three Romances. This is confirmed by the Romance of Princess Maria Elizabeth of the royal family of the Wettyns, fascinated by the work of Johannes Brahms. Bright, almost bright colors and the ability to swing were found in the sound of this instrument by the neoclassicals: Jean Françaix and Francis Poulenc. And Witold Lutosławski reminded that the clarinet is also a folk instrument, playing for dance!
