What can we really find out about a food by looking at the packaging, and how do we use the information to make informed choices ourselves?
Ingredients list, nutrition declaration, brands and messages on the front page. The packaging of our food is full of information. But what does it actually tell us? In the presentation, Line Holt Nielsen is based on ordinary supermarket goods and investigates together with the audience what the packaging can actually tell us when we turn the package over and follow the information. The aim is not to single out right or wrong goods, but to provide concrete tools to navigate the information and become better equipped to make one's own choices. Along the way, the audience will have the opportunity to explore various items and try out the tools themselves.
Line Holt Nielsen is a journalist and MSc in public health science and works daily with food delivery in Coop Madskole. She is curious, investigative and preoccupied with making knowledge about food understandable and applicable. The goal is to give people the tools to understand and relate to the information they encounter themselves.
Line's presentation is part of Nørrebro Library's big theme day about food.
