The Centre for Culture and Art in Skierniewice invites you to the concert of the Warsaw Village Band — a band that can be safely called a musical Polish flagship export!

The group has existed since 1997. Her repertoire consists of avant-garde interpretations of traditional music, broadly understood area of Mazovia. Despite their fidelity to traditional playing and singing techniques, their inventive performances of old songs sound surprisingly contemporary and are fully understood by today's audience. Although we hear traditional instruments (e.g. violins, cymbals, drums) in the band's instrumentation, they sound extremely modern, and the musicians are not afraid to compare them even with electronics and samples.

The band has ten albums, five “Fryderyk” albums, numerous awards at Polish and foreign folk festivals and a nomination for prestigious awards of the American music industry — Grammy.

However, the strength of the Warszawa Village Band is primarily the concerts, of which the band has played hundreds, mainly outside Poland...

More than 30 countries, 4 continents. From Osaka, Tokyo and Taipei through Moscow, Paris, Lisbon, Algiers to New York, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Adelaide, Melbourne and New Plymouth. Theatres, clubs, festivals, small groups of listeners and crowds of thousands. And so without interruption for nearly thirty years.

All the more pleased that once again, after more than 10 years (!) Since the last concert with the Warsaw Village Band, we will soon have the opportunity to meet in Skierniewice!
