Karin and Carl Larsson are one of the most famous artistic couples in Sweden, who created a house in their rural estate in Sundborn, which is a living work of art and a model for the concept of a happy home. During the lecture, Dr. Wicenciak-Szulc will talk about how Carl's painting and Karin's innovative textile and interior design projects came together into a coherent whole. It will show how the Larssons created a unique style and how their ideas have influenced contemporary Scandinavian design.
Agata Wicenciak-Szulc — Doctor of Humanities in the field of Swedish Linguistics, assistant professor at the Department of Scandinavian Studies of the University of Warsaw in Bydgoszcz and lecturer at the University of Warsaw University of Applied Sciences in Poznań. She is the author of the book Electoral Polemic in Sweden, which analyses political discourse in Sweden. In his research work, he focuses on linguistic issues, while privately he explores the aesthetics and history of Swedish design. He believes that understanding a nation requires looking at both its language and the objects with which it surrounds itself.
