FILE - SHOW AVAILABLE

KARTOTEKA — performance available - 31 October, Duża Scena

17:00 — sign poetry workshop (at the Municipal Volunteer Centre) | 18:30 — audience opening | 19:00 — performance

Tadeusz Różewicz was one of the most important Polish poets and playwrights of the 20th century. In his work, he often addressed the themes of war, memory, responsibility and the loss of man in the modern world.

“Kartoteka” is the story of a man who lies in bed while the world changes around him. The hero meets people from his past, living and dead. Memories, historical events and family experiences return. We don't know exactly who the Hero is or what happened in his life.

The show raises the question of whether it is possible to be a hero in today's world. The hero is faced with a sense of loss, powerlessness and lack of influence on reality. Elements of the contemporary world appear in the play, thanks to which the story of Różewicz is read anew.

ADDITIONAL ACTION

Before the performance, we invite you to a sign poetry workshop, which will be led by Arkadiusz Bazak — film and theater actor, who deals with sign language poetry and vocals at PJM.

During the meeting, participants will learn sign poetry and try to create their own images using hands, movement, facial expressions and the whole body. The workshop will be an opportunity to discover how you can use sign language to express emotions, images and your own associations.

The workshop will be translated from Polish Sign Language into Polish and from Polish into Polish Sign Language.

The City Volunteer Centre is wheelchair accessible. At the entrance there is one step and a ramp. There is no toilet available in the building.

The number of participants in the workshop is limited. Enrollment through the form.
