Kasia Lins plays the role of Obywatelka K.L., to re-read and relive Grzegorz Ciechowski's songs — both well-known and those that until now lived in the shadow of the biggest hits. This is not a tribute, but a meeting of two expressive characters — a contemporary artist and one of the most important creators of Polish music.
“Obywatelka K.L.” is a project in which Lins conducts an intimate dialogue with Ciechowski. Her story of obsession, lust, love and death naturally intersects with his world — full of tension, eroticism and anxiety. Citizen G.C. and Citizen K.L. — who is watching here and who is being watched?
The project “Obywatelka K.L.” is not only a return to the legend, it is a new look at Ciechowski. His work was distinguished by an extraordinary empathy for the female perspective. His broad spectrum of sensibilities - from emotional subtlety to sensual intensity - takes on full meaning by giving them the voice of a woman and confirms how naturally feminine Ciechowski's emotionality was.
“I didn't want to pay another tribute. I wanted to enter this world in my own way — that these songs didn't sound like a memory, but like something that still breathes. This record is a bit of a ghost talk. With someone who has already said a lot, but I feel there is even more to it. His music had darkness, sensuality and sincerity in it. I tried to build something new out of these emotions, something of my own. Maybe in this sense it is not just a reinterpretation, but a meeting — of a woman and a man,” recalls Kasia Lins.
Why are we writing about this? Because on October 18th KASIA LINS TRIO will perform at the Halszka cinema in Szamotuly!
