Katarzyna Groniec is back with new music!

After an extremely successful period crowned with the Fryderyk Prize and a high-profile literary debut, the artist opens another chapter in her work. His first trailer is the song “Halo”, in which Tomasz Organek makes a guest appearance.

The new song builds a nightly atmosphere around the listener, in which shadows, passing time and a sense of suspension play a key role. Katarzyna focuses on looking for signs and uncertainty in relationships, and the combination of two expressive voices of the Polish scene gives the whole a raw, magnetizing character.

“Halo” has several meanings. In addition to trying to find out who we are dealing with: “Hello, who is talking?” There is still a circle of light around something. For example, around the moon. Or around the holy heads. It can also be an attempt to draw attention to yourself: Hello! Can anyone hear me? All of this will be my new album. And it will be called by the single “Halo” to which I invited Tomasz Organek and Tomek accepted this invitation. I passed out. And when I woke up, we recorded a song... — says Katarzyna Groniec.

Katarzyna Groniec — born in Zabrze singer, author of lyrics and music. Winner of the main prize of the Festival of Young Talents in Poznań (1988), she made her debut with the role of Anka in the musical “Metro” at the Drama Theater (1991). In 1997, she won the Grand Prix, the First Prize and the Journalists' Award at the Festival of Acting Song, where she sang “Unmasked Songs” by Hemar and “Amsterdam” by Brela. In 2008, she was awarded the Alexander Bardini Master's Degree for outstanding artistic achievements in the field of acting song. In 2023, she makes her debut as the author of the novel “Kundle” published in the Niza publishing house. Winner of Fryderyk 2024 in the Literary and Poetic Song category for “Constellations”, a phenomenal work full of emotion and depth, produced by Warner Music/Adapter. For her debut book “Kundle” she was nominated for three awards — the Gdynia Literary Award, the Witold Gombrowicz Prize and the Conrad Prize. The Witold Gombrowicz Prize Chapter awarded Katarzyna Groniec a distinction in the form of a one-month residency in Vence for her book “Kundle”, for her poignant, collective portrait of the Silesian city and the psychiatric hospital in Toszek — explained Józef Olejniczak, a member of the chapter. This is a completely different book about Silesia than the ones we know. He accurately strikes at the stereotypical image of him.
