KatoHey! Festival 2026 — jubilee, tenth edition
Ahead of the tenth, jubilee edition of KatoHej! A festival that will bring together lovers of mountain hiking, travel, folk, shanties, sung poetry and tourist song. The program included concerts, a meeting with an unusual traveler, handicraft workshops and highlander afterparties.
KatoHey! For years, the festival has attracted people who share a passion for mountains, music and exploring the world. The jubilee edition will be an opportunity to end the tourist season together, meet friends from mountain trails and shelters and meet new inspiring people.
Representatives of the guide circles and exhibitors presenting handicrafts will also appear in the space of the festival.
From a bike trip through Siberia to the highland rhythms
The festival will begin with a meeting with Jakub Rybicki — a traveler, photographer and writer, who will talk about unusual cycling expeditions, including a ride on the frozen Lake Baikal. His stories will transport participants to Siberia, bring the history of this region closer
and the fate of Poles exiled there in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The musical part of the event will combine a variety of sounds and artistic personalities. The Little Stage will feature the band Międzia Strunami from Tychów, winner of the main awards at the Bazuna and Danielka festivals in 2026. The group performs author's songs, compositions for poetry and their own translations of works.
One of the highlights of the program will be the concert of Michał Łangowski “25 years with guitar and pen”. The artist celebrates a quarter of a century of his creative path, during which more than 150 works were created, and he himself played about 1200 concerts. He will be accompanied on stage by excellent musicians and invited singers: Ela Rojek, Martyna Czech, Aleksandra Sawicka, Małgorzata Diedzic, Olga Sokołowska and Karolina Kowalska.
PotOCK will also appear on the Big Stage — a band combining rock energy with folk lyrics and traditional Carpathian melodies. The characteristic sound of the group is formed by four highlander female vocals and strong parts of guitars, bass and drums.
The musical finale of the festival will be a highlander afterparty with the band JAFER, which will take care of the lively atmosphere, traditional sounds and fun together. This is a proposal for all those who do not want to end the festival meeting with the last concert.
Handicrafts, tradition and meetings in the festival hall
KatoHey! The festival is not only about concerts and travel stories. In the afternoon, participants will be able to take part in weaving and papermaking workshops.
During the weaving classes, it will be possible to learn the basics of working on a weaving frame and create your own small fabric, mockup or bookmark for a book. Paper roll workshops will introduce traditional techniques for making flowers from tissue paper and crepe.
In the lobby of Katowice Miasto Ogrodów there will also be stands of partners and exhibitors. It will be a space for conversations, learning about mountain initiatives, discovering handicrafts and meeting people who share a love of travel and active pastime.
