We invite you to the concert of Kinga Głyk — bassist and composer with a unique funky sound, one of the most moving young personalities of Polish and European jazz.
She began her musical journey at the age of 12 in the family band Głyk P.I.K Trio. In 2015, at the age of 18, she released her debut album Registration, which was recognized by, among others, Polish Radio Trójka and magazines “Jazz Forum” and “Twój Blues”.
The artist has toured in Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Scandinavia, Brazil, Argentina, China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. She has performed on prestigious stages, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Blue Note Rio de Janeiro and Expo in Osaka. In 2017, she performed together with Marcus Miller at the festival in Leverkusen.
The album Feelings, produced by Paweł Tomaszewski, brought her wide popularity thanks to the song Joy Joy, which exceeded one million views on YouTube. Eric Clapton's bass rendition of Tears in Heaven, released by Bass Player United, reached 20 million views.
Kingi Głyk's work is based on improvisation and combining jazz with modern electronic groove. As she herself emphasizes: “Music can be interesting and powerful enough to move the heart, even if there are no words.”
