Cinema in the Old Theater “Silence of Julie”

Belgian Oscar nominee, awarded at Cannes and nominated for the European Film Awards electrifying Leonard van Dijl's debut. Julie is a promising young tennis player who surpasses her fellow academies with her talent. Suddenly, accusations of abuse against the female players are made towards her coach. The girl knows something, but decides to remain silent...

“The Silence of Julie” is a moving and precise study of domination, revealing the backstage of the main character's inner struggle for herself and her future. Van Dijl shows Julie's world without emotional blackmail, with respect and patience, although tension is buzzing somewhere inside. However, there are no rockets smashed against the court — it is a quiet struggle for survival.
