The action of the new film by the Dardenne brothers takes place in a nursing home for young mothers in Liège, Belgium. We meet five teenage girls — Julie, Jessica, Perla, Naïma and Ariane — forced to face the hardships of early motherhood. Each of the girls, whose fate has not spared so far, has a different story. Critics agree that this is one of the most moving and convincing films of the Dardenne brothers.
The film will be accompanied by a lecture “Does the maternal instinct really exist?”.
