Amazing and penetrating, and at the same time, oh horror, funny study, just... Lies. Florian Zeller, a French playwright who has already managed to accustom his viewers to sharp driving and painful telemarketing, moves with the grace of a ballerina and the precision of a surgeon in the meanders and nooks of human minds.
Two married couples, two pairs of friends, two pairs of lovers, and still only four of them, how is that possible? You will find out everything during the show “The Lie”! Metaphorically, Bergman's “Scenes from Married Life” was combined with several comedies by Woody Allen. Of course, art is not only a verbal equilibrium, it also contains a rational but also a philosophical subtext. The director of the play, Wojciech Malajkat, recently said: “We have been working on the cast for a long time, this play requires non-accidental and excellent actors who can bring out the nuances contained in the text, gracefully amuse the audience and make them, paradoxically, a lie teach them something.”
French playwright Florian Zeller tried to verify the lie in stage conditions. He succeeded so much that throughout Europe viewers fall from their chairs during performances with amusement, in a moment they return to the seats discreetly peering around and seeking support and understanding from other women and men. Let this make you realize the destructive power of this text. The director of the show, Wojciech Malajkat, reveals: “It scares us how you can live comfortably in a relationship, while not knowing anything about each other.” However, the producer of the show, Piotr Szwedes, reserves: “It is worth seeing, of course, not in order to find out how to successfully deceive your partner or partner. Don't treat it as an instructional show. Oh no!! It is worth it, because, as in a lens, we will focus two days of your life in two hour-long acts. We'll take you apart in the first part, and will you be ready to assemble? That's what we leave to you. It's not just a comedy, it's a very valuable message.”
