Your guide through the dark graveyard will be the Warbler, who will summon tormented souls. Why can't they find peace? This is what the viewers will tell us, and we will see the stories of these miserable lives in a series of unscripted scenes that are written continuously.
The musical background of our poem will be created by Jerzy Rogiewicz, composer, drummer and pianist born in 1983 in Bydgoszcz. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow, where he studied under the supervision of Zbigniew Bujarski, Krzysztof Penderecki (instrumentation) and Magdalena Długosz (electronic music). As an improviser instrumentalist, he performed with such artists as Toshinori Kondō, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Hannoda Taku, Paweł Szamburski, Piotr Zabrodzki, Tomasz Duda and the Pink Freud band. From 2005 to 2012 he co-formed the jazz band Levity. Since 2010 he has been collaborating with pianist and composer Marcin Masecki in projects such as Ragtajmy duet, Trio Jazzowe or Jazz Band Młynarski-Masecki. Founder (together with Igor Nikiforov) of the duo Jerz Igor creating original music for children, with whom he released three albums (Small Plate, Jerz Igor in Winter, Wyspa). In 2018, his first solo album was released, which included original arrangements of carols for a solo percussion set (Kolędy, ed. ABC side). In 2019, he wrote the musical fairy tale King Maciuś I for children's solo voices, choir and symphony orchestra, based on the novel by Janusz Korczak, adapted by Grzegorz Uzdański, commissioned by the POLIN museum. The piece was recorded by the Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of the composer. Appreciated as a composer of film music for the films Blood of God (2018, directed by Bartek Konopka), Miasto (2021, directed by Marcin Sauter) or Fucking Bornholm (2022, directed by Anna Kazejak). In a duet with Bartek Tyciński, he created the soundtracks for Murderczynie (2023, Viaplay) and Absolute debutants (2023, Netflix). He is also the author of the music for the popular comedy series 1670 (2023, Netflix).
Klancyk Improvisowany Theatre is one of the pioneers of comedy improvisation in Poland and the first Warsaw improv theatre. It has existed roughly since 2006. Their performances are stories written on an ongoing basis, born in front of the audience from group energy, momentary understanding and an absurd sense of humor.
Klancyk is Maciej Buchwald, Krzysztof Dziubak, Bartosz Młynarski, Paweł Najgebauer, Piotr Sikora, Błażej Staryszak, Krzysztof Wiśniewski, Grzegorz Uzdański.
They co-created the new Warsaw comedy scene, including the Comedy Club, the Impro School and the Comedy Resort. Klancyk has performed at literary, music and theatre festivals in Poland and abroad, including Apostrof — International Literature Festival (Warsaw), Big Book Festival (Warsaw), Zygmunt Haupt Festival (Gorlice), Miedzianka Fest (Miedzianka), Malta Festival (Poznań), Open'er Festival (Gdynia), Chicago Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon (New York), Jazzahead Festival (Bremen).
They collaborated with, among others, the National Library, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Institute of Reportage Foundation and Radio 357. In joint stage ventures they performed with, among others, Katarzyna Nosowska, Magdalena Grzebałkowska, Dorota Masłowska, Mariusz Szczygl, Janusz Gajos and Marcin Masecki.
They produce the comedy podcast “Everyday Difficulties”. Their guests are comedians, people associated with the world of music and film, journalists, writers and writers.
