We can think of and, above all, hear music as a network of relationships. For this, terms from the world of the family are close: families of instruments, harmonic — and disharmonious — relationships, related melodies, rhythms, chords...
The Resident Music Collective, fifteen musicians from a wide variety of cultures who live in Germany, have been inspired by the key questions of the exhibition Respective Family. Which music belongs to the culture we come from? How can we play together? Which voices do you not hear? How can we transfer from one musical idea to the next in such a way that a connection is created? And who in a collective determines what works musically?
With musicians playing their instruments from all directions, this creates a concert for everyone. The musicians have contributed their own compositions or traditionals. The audience is invited to move freely and establish their own relationship with the sound experience. Children are also very welcome.
