info

Tender and heartfelt, then quick-tempered and passionate again: Mitsuko Uchida develops a wide range of expressions on the piano, her playing impresses with clarity and emotional depth. For her piano recital, she has put together a program that reveals emotional abysses — with Haydn's dark F minor variations, Mozart's melancholy A minor Rondo and Schubert's later A major Sonata, which oscillates between turmoil and transcendence and was composed just a few weeks before the composer's death. Schoenberg's Six Little Piano Pieces form a sharp contrast to this: highly concentrated miniatures full of expressivity.
