Climate crisis: what is happening and what are we doing?

Climate talks: Climate change is already underway, but how will the climate crisis evolve in the coming decades? And what does it mean for us, for nature and for the society in which we live?
Sebastian Mernild has said: “We are going to see countries that are completely destroyed and we are going to see large numbers of people who have to find a new place to live.”
Professor Sebastian Mernild is one of the world's leading scientists in the field of climate change and global warming. In this lecture he gives an insight into current knowledge about climate change. Sebastian Mernild talks about the development trends the researchers see, what we can expect in the future, and what consequences rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns, extreme weather and rising sea levels can have.
Sebastian Mernild also looks at our options for action: what can we do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and what solutions and transitions are needed if we are to limit climate change?

It is a topical and thought-provoking lecture that provides both knowledge of where we stand, a look at the future we are moving towards, and perspectives on what we ourselves and society can do.

We will be much wiser on all these topics on 29 October, when we want to promote the local conversation about the global challenges and the possible solutions to the climate crisis.

#Klimasamtaler is a collaboration in Valby between volunteers from the Valby Local Committee Environment Group and Valby Library, which since 2023 has been creating a conversation about the global in the local area. Come and listen and talk to. With coffee, tea and good snacks.
