Our one hundred and thirty-third proposal in the series will be an incredible, true life story of a well-known activist for people with Tourette's syndrome, John Davidson, whose humor and sincerity helped the world better understand this disorder.
Great Britain of the Eighties. The life of the protagonist (in this role, BAFTA winner Robert Aramayo) changes irreversibly when, at the age of 15, uncontrolled motor and vocal tics begin in him. Against the odds of fate, he goes through a difficult period of adolescence and enters adulthood.
At the time, Tourette's syndrome was poorly known and understood - even by doctors - which doomed the protagonist to years of isolation, fear and shame. Everything began to change only when he began to approach his thirties. A meeting with the mother of a former schoolmate, who was recently diagnosed with an incurable cancer, sparked a unique relationship. Thanks to her unwavering support, the hero found in himself the courage to fully accept himself and become the voice of those who for years remained unheard. Drawing inspiration from the kindness of other people, he discovered his true purpose in life.
