Only a few musicians are as likeable and authentic as Knox right off the bat. On the one hand, this is due to his authentic self-irony, which quickly becomes apparent when listening to his music, and on the other hand because of his approachable sound, which combines guitar-heavy indie rock with modern alternative rock and pop and above all spreads one thing: positive vibes and good humor. His two collaborations with Bilmuri also made his voice known across genre boundaries in the heavy scene, which led him to a wide audience. Knox has now announced his new album “My Midwest Best”, which will be released on October 2nd. It follows his debut album “Going, Going, Gone” released in 2025, which he presented on a European tour in September last year. If Knox Morris's biography proves one thing, it's that detours are not dead ends, but can turn out to be the only right way to reach your destination. Originally, the musician from Dayton in Ohio planned a career as a teacher and studied at Ohio University. Music was a hobby for him, which took him to local festivals and open mic sessions, where he shared his talent with others. Inspired by successful singer-songwriters, he wrote his first songs during his semester break and worked up the courage to participate in American Idol and America's Got Talent. Although the competitions were unsuccessful, they led his way to Nashville via the music production company Zodlounge. After Knox decided to leave his studies behind, he dedicated himself fully to music. Instagram Reels and TikToks built up an international community for him, which also drew the interest of the music industry to him early on. Just shortly after the musician presented a modern mix of pop punk and alternative on his second single “Leg Day”, Atlantic Records contacted him and signed him in autumn 2022. His debut EP “How To Lose A Girl in 7 Songs” followed at the beginning of 2023 with the indie-heavy “Sneakers”, which became his first hit. In the same year, Knox celebrated with his second EP “I'm So Good At Being Alone? “as well as the songs “Love Letter” and “Not The 1975” the next success. From 2025, Knox released new singles, which became part of his debut album “Going, Going, Gone”, which was released in April of that year. The singles “Go For Broke”, “Long Story Short” and “After The After Party” followed in 2026, which were the first harbingers of his new album.
