Women of the Bauhaus

The Bauhaus is the cradle of the avant-garde and the foundation of modern architecture. Today, more than a century after the founding of the school, its masters still remain the stars of the history of architecture and design, and the history of the Bauhaus is still dominated by men. Only experts know the names of the women who co-created this school, despite the fact that much of its innovative potential was precisely to their credit. The documentary “Women of the Bauhaus” (Bauhausfrauen) pays tribute to the forgotten works associated with the Bauhaus and tells its story from a female perspective.

The screening will be preceded by a lecture by Renata Kopyto, who will introduce viewers to the context of the topics covered in the film.

The screening of the film is an event accompanying the exhibition “Anni Albers. The Philosopher of the Thread” presented at the Nuremberg House on 20.10- 06.11.2026.
