High Heels has great news for the women of Krakow: we are back with our project Women Know What They Do, full of good energy.
Already on October 24, we invite all willing people to spend a special day in excellent company. Anna Dymna, Magda Steczkowska, Joanna Śmigielska, Paulina Żelażnik, Sandra Wiktorko, Joanna Chmura, Prof. Michał Rusinek, Justyna Michniak-Szladerba will be with us.
So, let's meet at the Nowohuckie Cultural Centre in Krakow. And that's not the end of the good news — we have an invitation for you to three wonderful panels. Admission is, traditionally free, because we want everyone to be able to join us without hindrance. However, registration is required — you only need to register once to be able to participate in all three panels.
Panel I — Women for computers — there are no glass ceilings in science 10.30-11.15
A conversation between the scholarship holder, teacher and experts about the future of the IT industry and women in IT. An important element of the conversation will be the stereotypical approach of the IT industry as a typically male occupation. During the conversation we will consider how to discourage such thinking and perhaps what should be done to encourage more people to develop their passions in this field. One example would be scholarship programs. We also want to address the issues of security needs (including national security) related to investing in software and IT personnel.
Guests: Joanna Śmigielska, computer science teacher, president of the Foundation for Computing for Start Paulina Żelażnik, student of the University of Wrocław, laureate of the IT OlympiadSandra Wiktorko, scientist, activist, manager, Perspectives Educational Foundation Joanna Chmura, psychologist specializing in authenticity, of shame and courage Presenter: Natalia Mazur, journalist and editor of Wysoké Obcasów
Break 11.15-11.35
Panel II — How to keep smiling? How not to get lost in difficult everyday life? — personal conversation with Anna Dymna. 11.35 — 12.20
We will look for an answer to the question about what is most important, what makes us able to find happiness in ourselves and others. We will talk about how great strength ordinary human kindness has.
Guests: Anna Dymna, theater and film actress, founder of the “Mimo Wszystkie” Foundation Host: Agnieszka Urazinska, journalist and editor of Wysokie Obcasów
Break 12.20-12.40
Panel III — Does Success Have Gender? We can speak well of ourselves, we can fight for ourselves. Why is success for the male sex? Who is a successful woman? 12.40-13.10
Why is success for the male sex? Who is a successful woman? We will talk about what difficulties must be overcome — not only external, but also within oneself — in order to achieve satisfaction from one's own achievements. We will consider what to do so that professional success does not overshadow private and whether these worlds can be harmoniously combined. We will look for the answer to the question whether success has gender - because maybe these times are behind us?
Guests: Magda Steczkowska, singer, lyricist Prof. Michał Rusinek, literary scholar, translator, writer and professor of the Jagiellonian University Justyna Michniak-Szladerba, vice-dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the Higher School of Management and Banking Lecturer: Karolina Jaroszewicz, journalist and editor of Wysokie Heels
