The word that best describes a traditional Basement Christmas concert is “magic”. The very title of the concert is winter and magical, it envelops the listener with an extraordinary mystery. Music from the very beginning introduces the listener to a mysterious world, and the subsequent stages of the musical show reveal the 70-year history of the Krakow legend...

Krakow, fog, snow, carols, Galician wine are images that accompany the Christmas concerts of Piwnica Pod Baranami in the winter season. For many years, the performances of the legendary Piwnica have gathered thousands of spectators wishing to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Krakow bohemia and the magical world of art. The Pewnica Ensemble began the sixty-fifth season of its activity, cultivating in its message the best examples of European cabaret, native pre-war theatres, as well as the more contemporary. All works are original compositions by Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz, Zygmunt Koniecki, Andrzej Zarycki, Zbigniew Preisner, Tamara Kalinowska, Leszek Wójtowicz for texts, outstanding Polish and foreign poets. This extraordinary performance, which has been prepared for decades by artists and composers associated with Piwnica, presenting a new repertoire every year, will be performed by a group of 20 artists, stars and musicians of Piwnica pod Baranami.
