Abdullah Miniawy (born 1994) is an Egyptian expressionist, writer, singer, composer and actor. Over the years he has performed on stage alongside renowned artists such as Erik Truffaz, Kamilya Jubran, Yom, Médéric Collignon, Aly Talibab, A Filetta, Hvad, Ziur, Simo Cell and many others.

Abdullah's performances graced prestigious international stages and venues, including the 72nd edition of the Avignon Festival, the French national theatres, the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Haus Der Kunst museum in Munich, the Mao Asian Museum in Turin and even the Louvre in Paris.

Abdullah Miniawa's influence extends beyond the realm of art; he has been selected by the European Parliament in Strasbourg as one of three changemakers from the Schengen area to present the French-Egyptian artist's perspective on pressing contemporary challenges at the European Youth Meeting 2021 in the “Live Fully” section of the European Youth Meeting 2021. He also took part in the Europe Takes Part event, a gathering of 30 diverse speakers who discussed new economic models and digital solutions for artists in the post-pandemic world.

Since 2016, Abdullah has collaborated with the German trio Carl Gari, combining avant-garde electronic soundscapes with poetic lyrics. Their debut album “Darraje” was recognized by the US station NPR as one of the 50 best albums of 2016. Their latest release, “The Act of Falling from the 8th Floor,” garnered the attention of Pitchfork, The Quietus and Wire magazine, and “Zawaj” topped Resident Advisor's “Deep Listening” list in 2019.

Recently, Abdullah's album “Le Cri Du Caire”, recorded in collaboration with Erik Truffaz, won the LES VICTOIRES DU JAZZ 2023 award — the French equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

As a songwriter, he left his mark in the Middle East region, especially during the Arab Spring, when his texts were posted, among others, in the Yarmouk camp in Syria.
