We cordially invite you to our daily Chopin recitals!
The concerts take the form of 19th century musical meetings. The interior of the hall refers to the stylistics of the 19th century, hence the elegant crystal chandeliers and stylish accessories designed by nineteenth-century creators. The Fryderyk Concert Hall is recognized as the most beautiful concert hall in Warsaw.
The concert consists of two parts, separated by a short break, during which guests are treated to a glass of champagne.
Duration of the concert: 1 hour.
We invite you 15 minutes before the start of the concert.
Maria Korecka-Soszkowska is a world-famous Polish pianist who has gained international recognition thanks to her long and varied musical career. Her talent is manifested not only in concert activities and participation in competitions, but also in pedagogical work, which she conducted both in Poland and abroad. Her reputation has resulted in invitations to sit on the jury of numerous music competitions.
She studied in Poland under the guidance of the eminent professor Henryk Sztompka, as well as in Austria in the class of Professor Dieter Weber. Since the beginning of her career in 1962, she has given thousands of concerts and recitals and has performed with many philharmonic orchestras around the world, including in Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Germany and Ukraine.
Over the course of her career, Maria has won many competition awards and performed at countless national and international festivals. These include: I. J. Paderewski National Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2nd prize, 1961), National Mozart Music Competition in Katowice (distinction, 1956), Moderne Klaviertechnik in St. Moritz (1st prize) and the 7th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (honorary diploma) for the second stage, 1965). In 1978, she received the José Miguel Ruiz Morales Award (the only award for the best interpretation of Spanish music) at a competition in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Similarly, her festival activity is rich — she performed in Marianske Lazne, Brno (1982), Ankara in Turkey (1989), Ghent in Belgium (1987, 1999), Druskininkai in Lithuania (2011, 2012), Minsk in Belarus (2013), in the Czech Republic (1985), as well as at many festivals in Poland.
As a judge, she has participated in competitions throughout Europe: in Ukraine (Worzel, 1999), in Denmark (Helsingør, 2001), in Lithuania (Druskininkai, 2011—2012), in the Russian Federation (Moscow, 2014), in Lithuania (Visaginas, 2014) and in numerous competitions in Poland, including the Interuniversity Chopin Music Competition The Milosz Magin Festival (Łódź, 2007), the Podkarpackie Chopin Music Competition (Rzeszów, 2012), the A. Tansman Regional Piano Competition (Łódź, 2013) and the L. Godowski International Piano Competition (Warsaw, 2014). In 2013 she was the organizer and director of the International Piano Competition Performance Without Limits (Łódź). She has also conducted master classes and piano workshops in Poland, Ukraine, Denmark and Lithuania.
In 1967 she began teaching as a lecturer at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw. From 1988 to 1990, she served as Professor of Piano at Bilkent University in Ankara. Since 1992 she has been associated with the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, where she has gone through all stages of her academic career — from senior lecturer to associate professor (2000) and full professor (2006). In 2007 she became the head of the Piano Department.
