We invite you to an interactive family concert, during which no one will sit on the spot. We will find out what will happen when we pack Polish oberki, Balkan rhythms, Irish dances and a little musical jokes in one suitcase.

Can music be taken with you on a trip? Of course — just pack a violin, clarinet, trumpet, accordion, double bass, percussion instruments and a handful of melodies taken from different folk traditions in your suitcase. During the family concert “Stump once, stomp two! So a suitcase full of folk” the audience will embark on a colorful expedition through the world of rhythms, dances and songs.

Folk music is lively, spontaneous and strongly linked to the place where it is created. She talks about everyday life, celebration, work, love and longing, and her melodies are often passed down from generation to generation. Each region gives them their own character — a different tempo, sound, way of singing and dance step.

During the concert, instruments that are perfectly found in folk music will sound. The violin will lead the singing melodies, the accordion will give them an expressive pulse, the double bass will build a strong base, and the clarinet, trumpet and percussion instruments will enrich the whole with new timbres and energy. An important element of the meeting will also be singing, thanks to which the audience will get to know the diversity of folk traditions even more fully.

There will be no lack of joint rhythmicity, clapping, stomping and musical games. Agnieszka Nowak-Zagóra will tell the youngest listeners about the songs performed, instruments and customs related to folk music.

“Stump once, stomp two!” is a concert full of joy, movement and joint music, which will show that folk is not just a thing of the past. It is music that can still captivate you to dance, encourage singing and connect listeners of all ages.
