On November 5, 2026 (Thursday) at 6 p.m., the Museum of the Home Army invites you to a musical-literary concert “Harmony of Two Nations”. The event was prepared in connection with the 70th anniversary of the Poznań June and the 1956 Hungarian Uprising.
This is an offer for all those who value music, literature and history, as well as want to get to know more closely the ties that unite the Polish and Hungarian peoples.
The concert will feature works by Polish and Hungarian composers, including Fryderyk Chopin, Henryk Wieniawski and Bela Bartók. The audience will hear violin, soprano, soprano saw and traditional Hungarian cymbals. The musical part of the event will be complemented by literary texts by, among others, Cyprian Kamil Norwid, Sándor Petőfi, Sándor Márai and Zbigniew Herbert.
For four episodes of the concert - from “The Roots of Freedom” through “Totalitarian Darkness” and “Explosion - 1956 and Solidarity” to “Triumph of the Spirit” - we will trace together the path of peoples who, despite adversity, have not renounced the dream of freedom.
Two outstanding artists will perform on stage. The violin will be played by Dr. Jolanta Sosnowska-Kern, an esteemed Polish violinist living and working artistically in Vienna. He performs on prestigious international stages, including Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus in Vienna and Berlin and NCPA in Beijing. She combines contemporary and historical performance, and her albums released by the Naxos label have been nominated for the Fryderyk Award.
The cymbals will be played by Prof. Viktória Herencsár, an outstanding Hungarian cymbal player, soloist of the National Opera in Budapest, founder and president of the World Association of Cymbalists. She has performed with renowned orchestras, including the Berliner Symphoniker and the Dresdner Philharmonie, promoting the culture of Hungarian cymbals around the world.
The narration and recitation will be presented by Alina Cichocka, introducing the audience to the next parts of the program.
