John Porter Concert “Helicopters '45"

The City Cultural Centre in Siedlce invites you to a unique, rock treat! Already on December 4, 2026, the legend of the Polish music scene — John Porter will perform on the stage of the performance hall “Podlasie” with the jubilee concert “Helicopters '45". It will be a journey through four decades of music that irrevocably changed the course of Polish rock. Don't miss the opportunity to hear the classics from the iconic album in energetic, thrilling arrangements!

In 1980, the album “Helicopters” entered the Polish music market like a fresh draft: new-wave energy, English-language lyrics, a steady rhythm section and a charismatic Welshman at the center of events. This album took Polish rock by storm, winning the Album of the Year title and becoming the foundation for entire generations of musicians.

The project “Helicopters '45" (premiered during the Men's Play 2025 tour) and the remastered edition of the album are proof that true beginnings do not get old. This is not a museum keepsake — it's a reactivation of a rock engine that starts up again and lifts the energetic dust live!

John Porter (born 1950 in Wales, Poland since 1976) is an artist who has been charting his own paths on the music scene for decades:

• innovations: created the albums “China Disco”, “Magic Moments” (the first unplugged album in Poland) and the soundtrack for the cult series “Seven Wishes”.
• duets and projects: great success brought him a duet with Anita Lipnicka (platinum album “Nieprzyite chansons” awarded by Fryderyk), a project with Nergal (“Me and That Man”), Wojtek Mazolewski (“Philosophia”) and with Karczewska (“On The Wrong Planet” — Fryderyk in the Blues Album of the Year category).

In 2005, for his merits to culture, the artist was awarded the medal “Merited to Culture Gloria Artis”.
