We invite you to a unique jubilee concert of the Kolejarz Choir, full of music, memories, energy, and of course the blues atmosphere! In the first part of the concert, the Kolejarz Choir will present, among others, works by Vangelis, Marek Grechuta, Anna Jantar and Cuban and African melodies, with the guest participation of the vocal ensemble a-gie from UTW. The second part of the evening will be a real treat for blues lovers — our special guest will be the famous blues musician Marek “Makaron” Motyka, who will perform solo and then together with the Kolejarz Choir.

40 years behind us, but the music is still playing!

Come celebrate with us and see that after 40 you really feel the blues!

The mixed choir “Kolejarz” was formed under the patronage of PKP in 1986. 10 years later it was incorporated into the structure of the Tarnogórski Centrum Kultury.

The founder and first president was Bronisław Kanclerz, and the first conductor — Henryka Bogusz.

From 1988 to 1999 the band was led by Irena Jasiurkowska. Then every two years Jacek Pieczyk and Jacek Grysko. Since 2004 the conductor of the ensemble is Izabela Lysik-Różańska.

The choir “Kolejarz” has long enjoyed fame and recognition, which translates into invitations to interesting concerts that are very popular with listeners. The ensemble represents a high artistic level, which is confirmed by numerous successes at various festivals and competitions not only in the region, but also in the province and the country.

Over 40 years of activity, the choir gave more than 1000 concerts. He sang at home and abroad. The rich repertoire consists of works by Polish and foreign composers of all eras. The choir “Kolejarz” sings secular and sacred songs, carols and pastoral songs, folk and entertainment songs, as well as larger vocal and instrumental forms. With his repertoire, he visited numerous countries, among others: Germany, France, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

A huge distinction for the choir was:

Poland was represented twice at IX in Reims, France (1995) and Szczecin (1998). );

In 1995, the choir was awarded the Silver Badge of the Polish Association of Choirs and Orchestras;

In 1995 he received the title “Silesian Representative Choir DOKP” and the “Meritorious Railwayman of the Republic of Poland” badge;

Sings at the gala concert “Po nosmu or po Śląsku” in 1997;

In 1999, under the direction of the Japanese conductor Michi Hayashi and the professional orchestra Camerata Impuls and soloists of the Bytom Opera, the choir performed Vivaldi's “Gloria”.

The choir has many achievements to its credit:

1st place in the National Review of Railway Choirs in 1988 and 1994.

2nd place in the Competition for Mughals of Tarnogórskie Gwarków in 1988

1st place in the National Review of Railway Choirs in 1994

1st place in the National Festival of Carols and Pastorals in Będzin in 1996

1st place in the Regional Festival of Polish Choral Song in 2003 and 2005

2nd place at the 14th Tychy Christmas Carol Meetings, Tychy 2005

2nd place at the 6th Regional Festival of Polish Choral Song in 2007

1st place at the VIII Festival of Marian Song “Magnificat” in Piekary Śląskie in 2007

1st place at the 17th German Christmas Carol Meetings in 2008

2nd place at the XV National Festival of Polish Choral Song in Katowice in 2008

1st place at the 5th Regional Review of Passion Song in Koziegłówki in 2009

Distinction at the 2nd Erkel Sandor International Festival in Bekescab (Hungary) in 2009.

3rd place in the 3rd Festival of Eucharistic Song “O Salutaris Hostia” in 2010

Distinction in the final of the Festival of Marian Song “Magnificat” in Piekary Śląskie in 2011

3rd place at the 11th Festival of the Marian Song Magnificat 2013 in Piekary Śląskie.

2nd place in the 9th National Festival of Choral Song “O Kaganek Gwarków” -2014

The band recorded two cassettes with carols and sacred songs, a cassette with sacred music and numerous radio broadcasts. In 2009, he recorded a CD entitled “Hope”.

Concert during the mapping show on Kalwaryjski Hill — 25 August 2019

Recording for the TV program TVP 3 (which won) “And who will forbid us” — 2024

Setting of a musical holy mass in the Jasna Góra Basilica in Częstochowa on the occasion of the 34th and 35th Pilgrimage of Water, Sewerage, Municipal Economy and Environmental Protection Workers — 2024 and 2025

The choir currently has 24 members.
