In the autumn, Poznań will once again become the violin capital. Young artists will compete for the highest laurels in one of the oldest and most prestigious violin competitions in the world, sponsored by Henryk Wieniawski since 1935.

We do not know who will win the competition, but we already know that shortly after the verdict is announced, the winners will come to Katowice! This is an extraordinary opportunity to hear the artists at a turning point in their careers — fresh from the excitement of the competition, before their names appear on the posters of other important concert halls.

History shows that the Wieniawski Competition has been discovering talents for decades who later conquer the world stage. Among the winners were Dawid Ojstro, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Piotr Janowski, Kaja Danczowska, Bartłomiej Nizioł, Piotr Pławner, Alena Baeva, Agata Szymczewska, Soyoung Yoon, Veriko Tchumburidze, Bomsori Kim and Hina Maeda — artists for whom Poznań stood They are the gateway to an international career.

The concert at NOSPR promises to be a meeting with a new important voice of contemporary violinism.
