We invite you to the Mauris Ensemble concert organized by the Guitar and Harp Department. The program “Sonorités” includes music by Claude Debussy, Jean-Michel Damase and Joseph Jongen, written to a distinctive and rare combination of flute, viola and harp. The programme includes Debussy's Sonata for flute, viola and harp, Damase's Trio Op. 1 and Jongen's Deux Pièces en trio. The concert will be an opportunity to get to know the diverse chamber repertoire for this line-up and its unique sound palette.
Mauris Ensemble is an artistic initiative launched in 2022 by three musicians: flutist Magdalena Di Blasi, violinist Jan Czyżewski and harpist Adrian Nowak. The aim of the band is to create its own musical language, which consists of classical repertoire, improvised, experimental and electronic music, as well as a space allowing intimate contact with the audience and other artists.
The band is constantly developing its activity collaborating with many renowned artists or entities that broaden the creative spectrum of musicians. Working under the direction of Rita Costanzi — world-renowned harpist, artist and actress, the band develops its repertoire, which results in many original projects such as LIQUID, which is a concert of classical and improvised music combined with electronic music.
The musicians of the Mauris Ensemble are guided by their openness to new forms that go beyond the accepted norms of classical music. Collaboration with visual artists, work with movement or electronic music is the result of a jointly created idea and individual needs of each member of the Ensemble.
The ensemble has performed at many festivals, including: Music on the Peaks (Zakopane), 10th Krakow Autumn of Music (Krakow Philharmonic), 32nd Świętokrzyskie Days of Music (Świętokrzyska Philharmonic), Coherence Festival (Bydgoszcz). Since 2025, the team has been improving its skills by pursuing chamber studies at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin.
