symphonic, extraordinary concert — the National Philharmonic Orchestra in its first concert in 2027 will be conducted by Jiří Habart.
The name of the soloist will be announced at a later date.
The dance began with the first step. Before man created instruments, stages and ballet schools, he already carried within him the rhythm of walking, breathing and gesture. The common movement allowed us to bond, celebrate, tame fear, imitate nature, flirt, joke, and sometimes also talk about what it was impossible to say in words.
We do not know a culture in which dance would be completely absent. In many traditions, music, singing and movement are not separate orders, but a single, organic whole. Dance is a ritual, a game, a duel, a prayer, a protest and a medicine. It is one of the oldest ways in which a person experiences his own body and the presence of another person. Therefore, if we can, we should not deny it to ourselves. You can dance for real, but you can also listen to music that has preserved the memory of movement.
The National Philharmonic will take care of this New Year's Eve. The concert program will be arranged in a colorful apotheosis of dance: from ballet grace to virtuoso performance, from Viennese lightness to Latin American sensuality, from salon elegance to the rhythmic element of the street. There will be songs from different eras and countries, with different temperaments — mazur, tarantella, waltz, gallop, tango, foxtrot, polka, danzón and music inspired by dance in its most diverse forms, with Maurice Ravel's famous Boléro as the culmination of this colorful program.
