Opera can make reality give way to emotions, and the concert hall turns into a Roman arena or a Florentine living room. The Richard Strauss Association invites you to a unique event from the author's series “In the footsteps of great composers in Lower Silesia”. The concert “Italian Feast” is a rare opportunity to touch the operatic glitz of the most important European stages in the intimate, intimate atmosphere of the Impart Centrum.
The biggest magnet of this evening is undoubtedly the presence of Joanna Moskowicz. This outstanding Polish singer is one of the most appreciated performers of the most difficult parts of the coloratura soprano. In her work we can find such creations as Olympia in Offenbach's “Tales of Hoffmann”, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's “The Magic Flute” or Leila in Bizet's “The Pearl Fishermen”. On a daily basis, the artist performs at the Teatr Wielki Oper Narodowa and on other Polish stages, as well as on guest appearances in Germany.
However, Joanna Moskowicz has been associated with Wrocław in a special way — for nearly 20 years, including almost 10 seasons as a soloist of the Wrocław Opera. The upcoming concert is a real homecoming and a unique opportunity to hear this voice live in the city to which the artist is so attached.
“Italian Feast” is a story written with two outstanding voices and brilliant accompaniment. Next to Joanna Moskowicz on the stage of Impart Centrum will be Krzysztof Szumański — a singer who creates the biggest, often titled baritone parts in Verdi, Puccini and Wagner operas. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and the National Opera Studio in London for years, he has been visiting the stage of the Grand National Opera Theatre and other outstanding opera stages, and his deep, dramatic baritone perfectly complements the power of the Moskowicz soprano.
The third, equal protagonist of the evening will be the piano, with Bojana Dimković sitting behind it. The pianist and chamber musician graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (one of the best European art universities) and specializes in chamber music and collaboration with singers in song repertoire. In an opera devoid of the power of the entire orchestra, it is the pianist who has the enormous responsibility to convey the colors and dynamics of the entire musical universe.
The creators of the Richard Strauss Association have prepared this time a selection that goes beyond the opera itself. We will hear classical Neapolitan songs and arias and duets from the most famous works of Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi, as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
This is already the twelfth edition of the flagship cycle of the association, and the fifth implemented in the Impart Centrum space. Do not miss the opportunity to become part of this encounter with the culture of the highest order. “Italian feast” is the perfect idea for a classy evening.
