The Military Orchestra in Szczecin inherits its traditions from the Orchestra of the 12th Infantry Division, which was created on March 15, 1945, on the basis of the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army. The orchestra initially operated in Poznań, but already in May 1945, as part of the activities of the 2nd Army of the Polish Army, the 12th Infantry Division received an order to move forces to the Odra, on the section Gryfino-Świnoujście. During the march, the orchestra gave concerts for the local population, participating in ceremonial marches in the villages passed by.
