Let's end the year in the rhythm of the most famous Poles, Waltzes and Johann Strauss's March!
Over the beautiful blue Danube, the Imperial Waltz, the Polish Tritsch-Tratsch and the traditional Radecki March, which have accompanied the New Year celebration around the world for generations, will introduce us to a truly champagne mood. The Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Sławomir Chrzanowski, and the soloist of the evening will be the soprano Joanna Moskowicz.
This evening will not lack temperamental overtures by Gioacchino Rossini, including the famous Cyrulik of Seville, whose brilliant energy and theatrical humor have delighted audiences for more than two centuries. Joanna Moskowicz will also perform the aria of Rozyna from this opera — one of the most impressive and graceful soprano parts of the Belcanto repertoire.
The evening will also sparkle with the Viennese elegance of Johann Strauss II. We will hear among others the Imperial Waltz, the Champagne Pole, the humorous Poles Tritsch-Tratsch and Tick-Tack, as well as the spectacular overture to the operetta Baron Gypsy. There will also be Adela's famous aria from Revenge of the Bat — one of the most recognizable operetta scenes full of lightness, grace and stage temperament.
The programme will also include Franz Lehár's brilliant Silver and Gold waltz and the famous Olympia aria from Jacques Offenbach's opera The Tales of Hoffmann — a signature piece that impresses with virtuosity and stage finesse.
The whole evening will be a musical journey through the world of opera, operetta and the Viennese New Year concert — full of joy, humor, elegance and dance energy. And when the traditional Radecki March sounds, we will enter the new year together to the rhythm of music that has accompanied the most beautiful moments of celebration for generations.
