JIŘÍ PETRDLÍK /1977/ is recognized as one of the most recognized European conductors of his generation. He studied piano, trombone and conducting (1995-2000 at the Prague Conservatory, 2000-2005 at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts) with Prof. Miroslav Košler, Prof. Miriam Němcovej, Prof. Jiří Bělohlávka, Prof. Radomil Eliški, Prof. František Vajnar, Prof. Tomáš Košler Outník and others. He graduated in the master class of the principal conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra Prof. Kurt Masur in Wrocław and the principal conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Professor Jiří Bělohlávka. From 2002 to 2009 he was the permanent conductor of the National Theatre in Brno and musical director of the Municipal Theatre in Brno. Since 2004 he has been employed as a permanent conductor at the J. K. Tylt Theatre in Pilsen. JIŘÍ PETRDLÍK /1977/ is recognized as one of the most recognized European conductors of his generation. In the field of symphonic music, Jiří Petrdlík conducts leading Czech and foreign orchestras (Prague Symphony Orchestra, Czech Radio SO, Czech National SO, Janáček Philharmonic in Ostrava, Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc, North Bohemian Philharmonic in Teplice, Wrocław Philharmonic, Orchestra Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, MTM Orchestra in Warsaw, KSO in Toronto, Iwasaki Philharmonic ao) and regularly appears as a guest at various music festivals in Europe, Japan, China, Canada and the USA. Since the 2010/11 season, he has successfully developed a rich artistic collaboration with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, where he was appointed Artistic Director General and Principal Conductor from 2011-15. In the 2014/15 season, Petrdlík was invited to the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, and in the 2015/16 season he was guest conductor at the Wiener Musikverein. Since then he has developed a rich artistic collaboration as a permanent guest conductor of the Podkarpackie Philharmonic Orchestra in Rzeszów. Since 2015, Petrdlík has regularly organized prestigious New Year's tours in China with outstanding European orchestras. Petrdlík has also been active as a choirmaster (since 2009 Artistic Director of the Prague Mixed Choir), musicologist (Charles University in Prague) — he obtained his doctorate), publisher and educator (head of the conducting department of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague) and successfully participated in several competitions (e.g. in competitions: Prague Cantat, American Opera Competition, D. Flick Conductor Competition London). He is the chairman of the jury of the “Prague Kantat” Competition and the Fibich Society, and since 2017 he has been the director of the unique worldwide concert melodrama festival “Melodramfest” and the main conductor of the international orchestra Carpathia. Since the 2020/21 season, I have been the artistic director of the opera ensemble at the J. K. Tyl Theater in Plzeň. Petrdlik's wide repertoire includes compositions of various musical genres, styles and periods. In the field of discography, Petrdlík often pays attention to rarely appearing titles (e.g. Ezio Glucka — the world premiere of the Prague version of Beethoven's opera — Habsburg cantatas, Foerster — Glagolitic Mass, Fibich — Missa brevis, Prokofieva — Eugene Onegin, Arend — Astral Travels and others).
TOMASZ HAJDA — trombonist, pedagogue, professor at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the first trombonist of the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. He belongs to the group of the most outstanding Polish trombonists of his generation. Together with NOSPR, he has performed at the most important music festivals in Poland and abroad, collaborating with outstanding conductors and soloists of the world class.
He graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in the class of Michał Mazurkiewicz. Already at the beginning of his artistic path, he won prizes in solo and chamber competitions. In the following years he became a laureate of many prestigious national and international competitions, including 1st prize in the 2nd Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza and prizes at competitions in Katowice and Gdańsk.
As a chamber musician, he is associated with leading Polish brass bands, including NOSPR Brass Wind Quintet and Sinfonia Varsovia Brass. He also has an active solo activity, performing with symphony orchestras in Poland and Europe.
An important place in his achievements is occupied by phonographic and documentary activities. He has made pre-performance and archival recordings of works by Polish composers, including Kazimierz Serocki and Witold Friemann with the Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra. His albums Small Talk (2020) and Inspirations (2023) are valuable contributions to the development and popularization of Polish trombone literature.
Since 2007 he has been associated with the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he teaches trombone and chamber music classes. In 2019 he obtained the degree of Doctor of Habilitation of Musical Arts, and since 2025 he has been a professor. Its students are laureates of competitions and achieve professional success at home and abroad, powering the ranks of leading orchestras and musical ensembles.
