JACEK ROGALA

He graduated from the Wrocław Academy of Music, where he graduated with distinction: composition under Grażyna Pstrokonska-Nawratil (1990) and conducting under Marek Pijarowski (1992).

Since 2001 he has been the director of the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic in Kielce and the following festivals: Świętokrzyskie Days of Music, Summer at the Philharmonic, Film and Music Festival. In 2012, he inaugurated the activities of the Kielce Philharmonic in a new headquarters, the construction of which he was absorbed for a decade.

In the nineties he was assistant conductor at the Wrocław Opera, and also collaborated as a permanent guest conductor with the Capella Bydgostiensis Orchestra. He then stayed

on an Artur Rodzinski conducting scholarship at The Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. During this period he worked in the Music Editorial of the Polish Radio in Wrocław, he was a plenipotentiary of the Minister of Culture

and Arts for music, and then headed the Editorial Board of Contemporary Music of the Second Polish Radio Program. In 1999 he was the artistic director of the Days of Grażyna Bacewicz — a PR and TVP festival.

In the years 2000-2007 he was president, and until 2010 — vice-president of the board of the Polish Society of Contemporary Music (ISCM), where he also directed the 20th and 21st Century Music Competition for Young Performers. He is a juror of performance competitions and a member of the programme committees of festivals (including World Music Days Wrocław 2014, International Conductors' Competition in Bucharest 2013-2019, competitions for young conductors in Wrocław and Białystok). He is the author of the book Polish Music of the 20th Century published by PWM (2000).

He conducted teaching activities at the Jan Kochanowski University

in Kielce, and currently — as professor dr hab. — he teaches at the Academy of Music in Łódź, where he is also the head of the Department of Conducting.

Since 2019 he is a member of the University Council of the Academy of Music in Wrocław. He was a member of the Council for Artistic Institutions of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for the first and third terms. Since 2012 he has been vice-president, and since 2021 he has been president of the Association of Polish Philharmonies.

He has made many premieres and recordings on radio and film. His recordings of compositions 3 for 13 by Paweł Mykietyna (POR) and Tadeusz Wielecki's Concerto á rebours (NOSPR) won

at the UNESCO International Composers' Tribune in Paris (1995 and 1999), and the CD with the recording of the song 3 for 13 in 2009 received the Fryderyk awards in two categories: Album of the Year for Contemporary Music and the Most Outstanding Recording of Polish Music. He has recorded albums with the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra, including a four-part series entitled Album Polski, We Are From Here with music by Włodek Pawlik, Music for the opening with works commissioned by Polish composers for the first concert in the new headquarters of the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, and premiere recordings of compositions by Ryszard Bukowski and Karol Anol In the picture.

He has hosted the premieres of contemporary ballets produced by the Świętokrzyskie Philharmonic and the Kielce Dance Theatre, including: It happened in Jeruzalem by K. Dębski

and Pinocchio M. Weinberg (Polish premiere), and in cooperation with the UMFC in Warsaw he conducted performances in Kielce in the series “Opera in the Philharmonic” (W. A. Mozart, P. Czajkowski).

He has performed at many renowned festivals and competitions in Europe and Asia

and the Americas. He is also a composer of symphonic, chamber, choral and electronic music. His works, apart from Poland, have been performed in many countries of Europe and North America.

He received the bronze medal “Merited to Culture Gloria Artis”, and for the promotion of Polish contemporary music — the prize of the Association of Authors ZAIKS.

ARTUR JARON

He was born in Kielce, graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow, in the piano class of Professor Irena Sijałowa-Vogel, as well as postgraduate studies at the Odessa Conservatory, in the class of Professor Anatoly Kardashev. He took master classes under the guidance of Professor Wiera Gornostaeva and Günter Ludwig.

He has a rich artistic activity as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed with most Polish orchestras, including Sinfonia Varsovia, Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio Amadeus, Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television in Krakow and philharmonic ensembles in Bialystok, Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Koszalin, Kielce, Katowice, Lublin, Jelenia Góra, Olínica Szczecin, Opole, Szczecin, Słupsk, Torun, Wałbrzych, Rzeszów, Zielona Góra, Torun and Kielce. He has toured abroad in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Slovakia, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine. He has collaborated with a group of outstanding Polish conductors, including Jerzy Maksymiuk, Jerzy Salwarowski, Marek Pijarowski, Agnieszka Duczmal, Tadeusz Wojciechowski.

As a chamber musician, he collaborated with Teresa Żylis-Gara, Małgorzata Walewska, Wiesław Ochman, Adam Zdunikowski, Gwendolyn Bradley and Stefania Toczska, among others.

He constantly collaborates with violinist Lyudmila Vorobec-Witek, with whom he has toured in: France, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Ukraine, Slovakia, Sweden, Italy, Austria and the USA. In 2005, they performed together with a recital at Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall) in New York.

He made recordings for Radio Kielce and Russian Television. He has five CDs with solo and chamber music. Among the recordings made by Artur Jaroni is a unique rarity, rarely performed and recorded Concerto for piano and violin by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.

For 27 years he has been the director of the Krystyna Jamroz International Music Festival in Busku-Zdrój and runs the original recurring event Salon of Chamber Music in Kielce.

For his artistic and organizational activities he received many prestigious awards, including the Kielce Voivode Award, the Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, the City of Kielce Award, the statuette of the Leader of the Region in the field of culture, the Golden Emeryk, the Gloria Artis Bronze Medal, the Gold Medal for long-term service, and he was also repeatedly awarded the Minister of Culture and National Heritage awards.

For his pedagogical work he was awarded the medal of the National Education Commission. He was also awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit.

Since 2004 he has been the director of the Ludomir Różycki State Music Schools Complex in Kielce. He is the initiator of the Krystyna Jamroz National Competition for Young Vocalists, the M. Moszkowski International Piano Competition in Kielce, the National Violin Festival and the National Festival and Competition Guitar viva. He was a juror in the following piano competitions: A.M.A. Calabria, Aquaviva della Fonte in Italy, M. Moszkowski in Kielce, T. Leszetycki in Łańcut, P. Tchaikovsky in Żmerinka in Ukraine, Peter Toperczer in Košice, Slovakia and Druskininkai and Klaipeda in Lithuania.

In 2021, he was awarded the Silver Medal “Merited to Culture Gloria Artis”.
