CONCERT UNIVERSE - That's How We Were... or GOLDEN HITS UNIVERSE

“UNIVERSE” is a legend... Since its debut in 1983, when the duo Mirosław Breguła-Henryk Czich performed the cult song “Mr. Lennon” during the 20th National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, the band has been touring continuously, releasing new albums, and is constantly present on the Polish music scene with its own original sound and unique repertoire.

Between 1991 and 2008, the musicians released thirteen albums, ranging from “The Best of Universe” to the last album: “I Pass Like Rain”. Many of the songs have undoubtedly gained the status of hits: “Calling through silence”, “Stupid frog”, “You have what I do not have”, “I, such a cool guy”, “Such were we”, “Blues half until five in the morning”, “Because this is such a beautiful love”. The band also recorded with the most important personalities of the music scene, such as the song “So much I wanted to give you” sung with Beata Kozidrak.

The year 2008 brought the album “Mijam jak deszcz”, a farewell to “Universe” with its co-founder and vocalist Mirosław Breguła, who passed away in tragic circumstances on November 2, 2007. The disc contains the greatest hits of the band in new arrangements, as well as new compositions recorded by Breguła a few months before his death, including the moving “Once an enemy, once a brother.”

Currently the Ensemble consists of six performers: Henryk Czich — co-founder and current leader of the Ensemble — vocals, keyboards, Wojciech Wesołek — vocals, guitar, Damian Filipowski — guitar, Marek Kopecki — bass guitar, Grzegorz Krzykawski — drums, Marek Jagucki — keyboards.

Universe consists of countless concerts in the country and abroad, national and international gatherings of fans who have always been perfectly aware of the achievements and activities of the Band, UNIVERSE's own online radio station, which broadcasts non-stop the Group's hits, and the most famous, awarded at festivals, competitions or plebiscites, and those compositions that are less known to the general public. Numerous recordings, television and radio interviews. It is not without reason that the band “Universe” was honored with its own star in the Avenue of Stars of the Polish Song in Opole.

During the current concert tour on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Ensemble, one of the songs most often performed by musicians is the song “W perły ę deszcz” - after all, “UNIVERSE” is a real Pearl of Polish Music.
