Concert in tribute to Stanisław Soyka as part of the Artistic Impressions “Singing Images”

Today we invite you to a unique concert as part of the Artistic Impressions “Singing Images” 2026!

KUBA SOJKA & BUBA BADJIE KUYATEH - in tribute to STANISŁAW SOYCE

17 October at 7 p.m.

On the stage of this year's Artistic Impressions Singing the Picture in an energetic, jazz version we will hear Buba Badjie Kuyateh and Kuba Sojka, the eldest son of Stanisław Sojka. The artists will take us into the musical world not only thanks to the famous works of Staszek Soyka, but above all the instrumentation. The concert will be filled with music flowing from the bark and drums.

The concert of Buby Badjie Kujateh in a duet with Kuba Sojka is a tribute to Stanisław Sojka. The duo is also based on works from the borders of jazz, world music and funky, thanks to the African bark and the original work of the virtuoso of this instrument, which is Buba.

Buba Badjie Kuyateh was born in Gambia, in a family of griots - masters of music and recognized keepers of West African traditions. He plays on a 22-string chorus, continuing the legacy of his legendary lineage. In 2012, he moved to Europe, where he began an international solo career. He performs all over the world, but he has chosen Poland for his home and regularly collaborates with outstanding musicians. For 10 years he formed a musical duet with Stanisław Sojka, with whom they released the album Action Direct Tales in 2017. Buba's music combines authentic mandinka tradition with funk inspiration and jazz improvisation. In 2026, his new album Two Souls was released in a duet with Łukasz Dembiński - a musical combination of bark and handpan. He is the leader of the Bantamba and Buba Kuyateh Trio.

Cuba Sojka drummer with whom you can musically travel around the world. For most of his life he has been involved in the professional music scene, performing alongside outstanding artists of the jazz and folk scene, although he also has energetic rock'n'roll. The eldest son of Stanislav Soyka.

ARTISTIC IMPRESSIONS Singing paintings, inspired by the author's album Marek Grechuta, have been taking place in Mrągowo since 2008. The showcase of the project is the diversity of artistic activities in the sphere of music, word and image.

Is it possible to “sing a picture”? Marek Grechuta proved that this is possible by creating a fully original album “Singing Images”, inspired by his favorite works of art. The artist has become an inspiration for us to undertake activities that combine different fields of art. Within the Impression there is a place for literature, music, art and dance. The project includes workshops, concerts, shows, meetings and a nationwide song contest. Diversity, interpenetration of fields and inspiration through different forms of expression is the guiding idea of the project. The conclusion of the series of events is the final concert with the participation of the winners of the song contest and a unique stage personality.
