Concert in Jazz Club 69: TUBIS TRIO

Jazz club 69 presents a concert by the TUBIS TRIO band consisting of: Maciej Tubis — piano, Marcin Lamch — double bass, Przemek Pacan — drums.

Tubis Trio led by pianist and composer Maciej Tubis, has for years combined jazz improvisation with expressive melody, rhythmic energy and influences of classical and film music.

The debut concert album “Live in Luxembourg” was noticed by the British “Jazzwise” and was among the best jazz records of 2008, and subsequent albums “The Truth”, “Flashback” and “So Us” established the recognizable style of the band. “Jazz Forum” rated “Flashback” at 4.5/5, highlighting the trio's mature and consistent language, and Audio magazine wrote about Maciej Tubis that in the competition for the most melodic jazz themes he would “win in the mugs”.

The music of the Tubis Trio can be subtle, cinematic and hypnotic at the same time, to move into a strong groove and full of energy improvisation a moment later. The trio returns after a five-year hiatus with a new album and concerts that summarize their previous work and at the same time open a new chapter in the history of the band. In May 2025, the album “Live in Łódź” was released — concert the best of composed of the most important works of the trio, enriched with premiere compositions. A special event is the return to the band of double bass player Marcin Lamch, co-creator of the debut album “Live in Luxembourg.”

“The confrontation of the band's studio recordings with its concert face exceeded my expectations. Tubis Trio is an excellent line-up for live performances. It is definitely one of the best concerts of the Polish line-up that I have heard this year.” — reviewed critic Robert Ratajczak.
