We will start the new year to the rhythm of Viennese waltzes, polkas and marches of Johann Strauss. The Strauss Ball will be an evening full of elegance, lightness and dance energy, and the program will be filled with the most famous works of the “King of the Waltz” - music that has been inextricably associated with carnival, Viennese balls and New Year's celebrations for more than a century.
The overture to the operetta Revenge of the Bat will sound, which from the first bars introduces the audience to the world of Viennese humor, theatrical brilliance and dance temperament. From the same operetta, a frame full of energy will also sound — a musical image of ballroom fun and operetta finesse.
During the evening we will also hear some of the most recognizable waltzes in the history of music — Over the Beautiful Blue Danube, Viennese Blood, Roses of the South and Tales of the Viennese Forest. Strauss combined the elegance of dance form with melodiousness and subtle orchestration with extraordinary lightness, creating music that remains a symbol of Vienna and its musical tradition to this day. A special place is occupied by the Tales of the Viennese Forest, in which the composer introduced the characteristic sound of the citrine, evoking the atmosphere of the Viennese suburbs and the once popular taverns.
There will also be brilliant Polish women — Polish pizzicato, Neue pizzicato polka and humorous Polka Tick-Tack, whose rhythm is inspired by the sound of the clock mechanism. The program will be complemented by the march from the operetta Gypsy Baron and the traditional Radecki March, which for years ends New Year's concerts and joint musical celebration around the world.
The Strauss Ball will be an evening full of Viennese charm, dance rhythm and music that for generations invariably evokes smiles and introduces the audience to a unique, festive and carnival mood.
