Wojtek Cugowski “Świątecznie” — Christmas carols and Christmas songs in the Basements of TCK

Polish Christmas carols, “One Day in the Year” and “White Christmas” — this is what the first concert of the new year promises to be in the Basements of TCK. On January 2, Wojtek Cugowski will perform with the program “Świątecznie”, in which he will sing and play the guitar. He will be accompanied by guitarist Bartek Jończyk.

Wojtek Cugowski is primarily associated with the rock sound of the band Brothers and solo songs. In Tarnów we will hear him in the festive repertoire, prepared for two guitars and voice.

The program includes both carols sung for generations in Polish homes, as well as lesser-known, less frequently performed on stage. Among the songs announced are “Brothers, look only” and “Let's all go to the stable”. Next to them will be songs that have become a permanent part of the Christmas tradition: “One Day in the Year” by Seweryn Krajewski and “White Christmas”.

An intimate concert in the Basements of TCK will be an opportunity to prolong the festive mood and listen to familiar melodies performed by two musicians who have been performing together for years.

About artists

Wojtek Cugowski — singer with a characteristic voice, guitarist, composer and songwriter. For many years he co-created the band Brothers with his brother Piotr, and with his father, Krzysztof Cugowski, he performed in the family project Cugowscy. After finishing his activity in Brothers, he focused on a solo career. In 2022, he released the album “Don't Wait for a Sign,” on which he combined rock and pop inspirations with elaborate guitar parts. The album shows him both as a vocalist and as an instrumentalist, composer and co-producer.

Bartek Jończyk — concert and session guitarist, who has been collaborating with Wojtek Cugowski for years. Winner of the Silesia competition for guitar solo and several times finalist of the Solo Życie competition. He performed with Patrycja Markowska, and in the Made in Poland project he accompanied Kasia Kowalska, Małgorzata Ostrowska, Igor Herbut, Artur Gadowski and Muńek Staszczyk.
