The solemn concert is an artistic celebration of the anniversary of Poland's regaining independence through a touching journey through the canon of Polish classical music. The works imbued with the Polish soul will be presented to us by talented students of the Ensemble of Music Schools and the Radom Chamber Orchestra.

We will hear, among others, a concert for string orchestra by Grażyna Bacewicz, which is considered one of the “greatest manifestations of neoclassicism in Polish music”. It is certainly a work that perfectly represents the creative attitude of the composer, who has always tried to combine tradition with modernity in the most harmonious way possible.

On the other hand, “Four Etudes” op. 4 were composed by Karol Szymanowski in the years 1900-1902, and he dedicated them to Natalia (Tala) Neuhaus, his friend from school years. It is a characteristic piece for the composer's early work, in which the influences of both the music of Fryderyk Chopin and the contemporary artist Alexander Skriabin are evident. The composition is characterized by a delicate expression, but achieved by economical means, mainly colors, dynamics with a wide range, as well as an extensive harmonica. The most famous of the whole series is “Etude in B minor” No. 3 with a beautiful, lyrical-melancholic melody and a growing, full of inner tension dynamics. Popularized at the beginning of the 20th century by the outstanding Polish pianist Ignacy Jan Paderewski for many years as the only piece associated with the surname Szymanowski. The composer himself, in one of his letters to his friend, Grzegorz Fitelberg, wrote:

“Paderewski introduced himself to Stasi [Stanisława Szymanowska] at the rauta and spoke to her of different tenderness about me (especially, of course, about the famous 'Etude in B minor Op. 4 No. 3'). It is unfortunate to compose his Ninth Symphony at such a young age!!)”
