Wowakin — They are an old-fashioned country band. Or a modern urban trio experimenting with traditional music. They are students of violinists, harmonists and singers from the countryside. Or graduates of music schools, consciously transforming sources. They play with country musicians or with city musicians. At weddings, in concert halls and at dances. For 8 years, they have been inexhaustible inspiration for authentic country music — instrumental and vocal — accompanying weddings and parties for centuries, flowing from generation to generation. Not composed, but transmitted, having its origin in the soil from which it grew. Information: https://wowakin.pl/

“1670 Live” — an album released in 2023, containing music recorded by the band Wowakin together with vocalist Nina Kodorska for the 1670 series. The repertoire includes traditional songs such as “Cóżeś Ty, Kasiu” and “Kare konie”, performed in various variants in many regions of Poland, as well as Lithuanian Christmas carol wishing “Already my lover”. Traditional themes combine here with the sound of old instruments, trance melodies and rhythms to create a unique musical story inspired by tradition. Information: https://wowakin.pl/project/1670/
