About the event

Scientific Conference

Kielce 1945—1956 new facts, new interpretations.

Society, urbanization of the city

The Museum of History of Kielce, the Faculty of Humanities of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, the State Archive in Kielce and the Institute of National Remembrance Delegation in Kielce invite you to participate in the scientific conference.

This will be the next meeting in the series “Kielce 1945—1956 new facts, new interpretations”, during which original, previously unpublished scientific findings concerning Kielce in the first years after World War II and during the Stalinist period will be presented. This time the focus will be on issues related to the society and urbanization of the city at the time. We hope that the presented topics will bring us closer to the answers to the questions: What did People's Poland mean for Kielce? And also how Kielczans lived within it.

Conference venue: Conference room of the UJK University Library, ul. Uniwersytecka 19.

Scientific Council of the Conference:

Prof. Jerzy Gapys (Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce)

Dr Wiesława Rutkowska (State Archive in Kielce)

Dr Marzena Grosicka (Institute of National Remembrance Delegation in Kielce)

Grzegorz Maciągowski (Museum of the History of Kielce)

Organizing Committee of the Conference:

Dr Paweł Wolańczyk (Museum of the History of Kielce)

Dr Piotr Sławiński (State Archive in Kielce)
