For centuries, border towns and villages formed a multicultural social mosaic and were important economic centers. In less than a month, the historical interiors of the Palace in Sieniawa will become a space for debate on this complex heritage during the next scientific conference from the series “Cities of Borderlands of the Former Republic of Poland”. The theme of this year's edition is “Society and Economy”.
The event will bring together researchers from Poland and Ukraine. Seven speakers will present the results of the latest archival queries and historical analyses in two sessions, which will be led by historians associated with the Jagiellonian University — Krzysztof Ostafin, PhD, and Tomasz Kargol, PhD, professor of the Jagiellonian University.
The conference will culminate with an author's meeting with Wacław Holewiński, author of the novel “Shadow Being, Shadow Becoming” dedicated to the fascinating character of Karol Jaroszyński — entrepreneur, financier and philanthropist, considered the richest Pole in history, who came from Podolia.
The author's meeting will be led by Beata Kost, a Polish journalist born in Lviv, author of books, a lover of the history of Lviv and the former voivodships of the Republic of Poland.
