Press conference - Preisner Scoring Competition 2027

The Preisner Scoring Competition is a prestigious international composers' competition whose heart is Bielsko-Biała — the hometown of Zbigniew Preisner, one of the most outstanding contemporary filmmakers.

The project was created with the aim of discovering and supporting young talents and building a space where artistic sensitivity meets the experience of the masters of world film music. The participants of the competition take on a unique challenge: they compose an original soundtrack for the selected film image, giving it their own rhythm, emotions and meanings.

Under the artistic direction of Zbigniew Preisner, the competition creates a space for creative confrontation, inspiring meetings and international exchange of experiences. For young composers, it is more than an opportunity to win an award — it is a chance to showcase their own talent, artistic development and take the first significant steps in the world of professional film music.

On October 12, 2026, during a press conference in Bielsko-Biała, the assumptions of the second edition of the Preisner Scoring Competition will be presented. The official launch of the competition will take place on October 13, 2026, opening the next chapter of the venture, the final of which will take place in 2027.

The Preisner Scoring Competition is a place where young composers get the chance to have their music heard.
