You can regularly see pianists or concertmasters leading an orchestra with a Viennese classical music program from the first podium of the First Violins. On the other hand, an oboist who also takes on the role of conductor is a rarity. We are all the more pleased that François Leleux is once again a guest at the Konzerthausorchester. He is not only a “singing reed” superstar, but also a sought-after conductor in the chamber orchestra scene. In addition to Dvořák's “Legends” cycle and Mozart's “Prager”, there is of course a virtuoso work for oboe and orchestra, in which the conductor picks up the solo instrument. Composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778 — 1837), who stands for the transition from classical to romantic, created his opus 102 around 1825.
