No one had ever dared to bring something like this on stage: An archaic plot, ecstatic dances and this outrageous music! The Parisian premiere of Stravinsky's “Le sacre du printemps” to Nijinsky's choreography ended in turmoil in 1913. But the scandal calmed down surprisingly quickly, and “Sacre” marked the beginning of the age of new music, the avant-garde, of a completely new sound culture.
Stravinsky's “Spring Sacrifice” still captivates you today thanks to its tonal and rhythmic intensity, even as a pure orchestral piece. Our audience can feel that this evening in the well-cleaned Great Hall. The artistic interpretation of ancient sacrificial rituals of humanity is followed by a celebration of life with Sebastians Mullaert and “Circle of Live” in the form of a completely improvised electronic live set. It results in a collective flow bar of any formal structure at the limits of electronic music improvisation.
