The Kiev National Gallery of Art was founded in 1922. Its rich and diverse collection includes fourteen thousand objects, mainly in the field of painting, from the 13th century to modern times.
An important place in the collections of the Kiev National Gallery of Art is occupied by a collection of works by Polish artists of the 19th and first half of the 20th century, small, but very interesting. In Poland until now, in any case among a wider circle of art recipients, it has remained unknown.
The team of the National Museum in Krakow, invited by the Kiev museum to cooperate, together with it selected the works of nine Polish painters. They represent different eras — from early Romanticism to the interwar period and, of course, are very diverse stylistically and iconographically.
